An opportunity has arisen in our team for the role of Estimator. This is an important role within the Spectrum sales team with the main duties including:

Review project drawings, specifications, and requirements to develop detailed cost estimates for architectural metalwork.
Analyse material, labour, and time requirements for each project.
Prepare and present detailed quotations and proposals for the Sales team.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure estimates align with project goals and budgets.
Track and update estimates throughout the project lifecycle, making adjustments as needed.
Maintain accurate records of estimates, quotations, and project documentation.
Stay informed about industry trends, material costs, and market conditions.
Administration and assisting with further development of internal manufacturing and pricing software programmes

The ideal candidate will have:

A strong background in the extruded Aluminium Systems (i.e. Window and Door or Architectural Metals industry) building products sector
Proven experience as an Estimator in the architectural metals industry.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings.
Good and Practical Knowledge of NZ Construction and mythologies.
Appropriate IT skills including Excel, Word, and Auto Cad, although training can be given to the right candidate
Relevant Qualification, e.g. QS diploma.
Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement.
